Акустичний зворотній зв’язок (АЗЗ) — це ефект, який виникає в системі звукопідсилення в наслідок самозбудження. Цей ефект спостерігається, наприклад, у випадку синфазного потрапляння підсиленого акустичного сигналу з АС на мікрофон разом із первинним звуковим сигналом. В закордонній літературі цей ефект позначається як AFBS — Acoustic FeedBack System.
Для слухача АЗЗ сприймається як постійний або зростаючий тональний сигнал, який виникає під час акустичної програми (мови або музики). Виникнення АЗЗ ускладнює і навіть робить не можливим сприйняття акустичної програми.

Для боротьби з АЗЗ проводять попереднє налаштування акустичного комплексу для звукопідсилення з метою виявлення частот виникнення АЗЗ при максимально можливому коефіцієнті підсилення тракту. За допомогою частотних фільтрів режекторного типу прибираються ці частоти. Слід зауважити, що цей спосіб дозволяє запобігти виникненню АЗЗ при стаціонарному розміщенні системи звукопідсилення.
У випадку, коли під час виступу виконавець переміщується по сцені разом із мікрофоном, можливе виникнення АЗЗ на частотах, які не були виявленні під час налаштування. Тому під час «живого» концерту додатково використовують системи автоматичного придушення АЗЗ.
Виявлення АЗЗ у ауд. 412 проходить за наступним планом:
- Хлопець-оратор читає контрольний текст, знаходячись в обраній точці приміщення.
- За допомогою вимірювальних мікрофонів контролюється акустичне поле в приміщенні. Аналізуючи спектрограму поля та «на слух» визначається наявність АЗЗ та частота виникнення АЗЗ.
- Визначив частоту АЗЗ, за допомогою вбудованого в мікшерний пульт еквалайзера та частотного фільтра вхідного модуля, проводиться корегування частотної характеристики (ЧХ) тракту передачі акустичного сигналу.
- Поступово збільшуючи підсилення тракту звукопідсилення виявляються нові частоти АЗЗ і повторюються процедури п.2–3. Експеримент продовжується до досягнення максимально можливого підсилення тракту при відсутності АЗЗ.
- Оскільки спектр чоловічого голосу відрізняється від спектру голосу жінки, експеримент п.1 – 4 повторюється з дівчиною-оратором.
- Після проведення експерименту за п.5 знову переходимо до п.1, але оратор розміщується в іншій точці приміщення, і проводимо всі дії до п.4.
- По закінченню п.6 змінюємо оратора хлопця на дівчину та повторюємо п.1 – 4

В результати дослідження АЗЗ в залі засідань вченої ради ФЕЛ, отримуємо параметри налаштування тракту звукопідсилення для максимального коефіцієнта підсилення. Оскільки при проведенні засідань максимально можливе підсилення не потрібно, то ймовірність виникнення АЗЗ значно зменшується. Також слід врахувати, що дослідження проводиться у пустому залі, при максимальному часі реверберації — під час засідань наявність членів ради та гостей зменшить час реверберації, що також зменшує ймовірність виникнення АЗЗ.
Таким чином, отримані результати є опорними для системи звукопідсилення зала засідань вченої ради ФЕЛ і, під час зборів, потребують мінімальних поправок.
