Didkovsky Vitaliy Semenovich (born in 1947) is a doctor of technical sciences, professor, head of the chair of acoustics and acoustoelectronics (1987), vice rector for international relations (1988-1990), Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine (1998), a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.

In 1971 he graduated with honors from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute. Defended his Ph.D. thesis in 1976, doctoral degree in 1986. Since 1989 he has been a professor. Scientific activity is connected with the development of the theory of oscillations of complex systems, as well as problems of acoustic ecology. He created a scientific school in the field of architectural and construction acoustics. Developed and introduced in the curriculum courses: Applied Mechanics, Acoustic Ecology, Noise and Vibration. Posted the first in Ukraine textbook “Noise and Vibration”, which was the second edition.

He started training for specialists in the field of medical acoustic and bioacoustic devices in Ukraine. Has prepared 7 candidates of sciences. Awarded by the Diploma of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2004), has state awards. Member of the Expert Council for Energy and Electronics of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Freelance Consultant of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Science and Education. I took part in the elaboration of the Law of Ukraine “On Higher Education”.

He is the author of about 300 scientific works, 4 monographs, 2 textbooks, 12 textbooks, 20 inventions. The main scientific works are Theoretical Foundations of Acoustics (1998), Fundamentals of Architectural and Physiological Acoustics (2001), «Fundamentals of Acoustic Ecology» (2002), «Electroacoustic Piezoelectric Converters» (2006), «Noise and Vibration» ( 2009), “Physical Acoustics” (2009).
